Every baby’s sleep routine is unique and finely tuned, and finding that perfect music to help them stay asleep and wake up refreshed is not easy.
We know how crucial music can be for a baby’s routine, so we’ve launched Spotify app integration so you can find and play their favorite songs with a quick search.
How music affects babies’ sleep
Babies have a deep relationship with sound, which starts right in the womb. The first sound they hear is your heartbeat at around 18 weeks of pregnancy. By six or seven months gestation, they can hear your voice and some sounds outside your body. By the time they are born, they have the same capacity to hear as an adult.
Did you know?
According to Hearing International, a website focused on audiology, noises in the womb can reach 90 decibels (dB), the same threshold as a lawnmower. After birth, the silent atmosphere can be disorienting for babies, so they often sleep better with some white noise on, because it reminds them of the womb, their previous home.

What is Spotify integration?
Our new Spotify integration feature will allow you to turn your cradle into a speaker by enabling you to pair your crib with the Spotify app. You can curate a Spotify playlist for your little one and can play them your favorite pop songs, lullabies, nursery rhymes, soothing sounds, or whatever they’re into, from wherever you happen to be. 📣
Where to find it and what else to know
To enable Spotify on your Cradlewise app:
- Open Settings > Crib > Stream Spotify > Toggle ON ‘Enable streaming.’
Follow these steps to access the Spotify feature in the app:
- Open Spotify
- Play music
- Open device list
- Select Cradlewise
Your song will play through the cradle’s speakers, and you can control the volume in the Spotify app. This will enable you to use your Cradlewise as a Spotify output; you can also disable the Spotify output whenever you want.
Tip: You need to be at home on your primary Wi-Fi network that you use for the cradle when you’re first “discovering” the output, but once that happens, you’ll be able to connect remotely for subsequent uses.
Want to continue streaming when you’re not at home? Follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Crib > Monitor
- Turn on “Enable persistent audio when streaming remotely”
Cradlewise comes with a built-in sound machine. Our app also lets you play DJ to your baby’s sleep tracks: You can customize the white, pink, or brown noise tracks by overlaying sounds such as heartbeat, breathing, waves, or rainfall.
To add Cradlewise to your list of Spotify output devices, you’ll also need to change your Spotify output device settings. Watch this video to learn more about how to do that.
To access this new feature, please make sure you update to the latest version of the Cradlewise app.
NOTE: A premium Spotify subscription is required to use this feature.
